Some movements cannot be seen. Yet they leave traces on surfaces, in color, and through texture.
Arzu Yazıcı’s works move beyond the boundaries of the visible world, opening into a more intuitive and layered space. Rather than directly depicting a landscape, colors, lines, and textures follow the invisible currents of energy, movement, memory, and emotion.
Across the artist’s surfaces, blues, violets, reds, turquoise, and earthy tones flow into one another, allowing no single color to exist alone. Layers accumulate, some forms become defined while others disappear into the surface. Textured acrylic, ink, ceramic, and other materials make this movement not only visible but almost physically perceptible.
Images of cosmic spaces, distant galaxies, underwater worlds, sunsets, and light within darkness do not become literal landscapes in the works. Instead, they function as openings into inner states. A surface may appear as a dense haze, a constellation, or a layer preserved somewhere within time.
In Yazıcı’s practice, movement also carries the possibility of transformation. Circular forms draw inward, colors flow into one another, and the surface remains in a constant state of transition. Balance, therefore, does not emerge from stillness, but from opposing forces existing together within the same space.
Invisible Currents focuses on these quiet movements that Arzu Yazıcı makes visible through color and material. Each work carries the trace of another process continuing beneath the surface.
Perhaps what we are looking at is not simply a surface. Perhaps beneath the color, material, and movement, another world continues to flow, still waiting to be named.
