Sevenbige Metin is a multidisciplinary artist who stretches the boundaries of line, color, and form, merging design disciplines with plastic arts. Her visual exploration, which began with a fascination for comic book aesthetics at an early age, gained a structural foundation through formal training in visual communication design and fashion design. During her five years in Cyprus, she assisted a prominent muralist, a pivotal experience that informed her understanding of large-scale surfaces and public spaces.
The artist's studio practice centers around an evocative visual language built on figures, abstract expressions, minimal lines, and blocks of color. Incorporating painting, ceramics, and found waste materials, she explores the tactile and circular possibilities of diverse mediums. Metin positions the human figure within existential states of loneliness, belonging, and universal connectivity, inviting the viewer into a quiet, inward journey.
In her recent series, including "Mes Petits Hommes," "Bonshommes," and "Les Petits Objets," Metin successfully blurs the line between the functional logic of design and the autonomous realm of fine art. Following her showcase at the Bodrum Art Fair, she expanded her international dialogue with the Beyond the Frame exhibition in London. Metin currently continues her creative practice and research from her studio in Istanbul.
