Francesco Topino is a self-taught photographer born in Rome, Italy, in 1974. He became acquainted with his first camera at the age of 16, inheriting it from his beloved mother, herself an avid photographer. Over the years, he has explored several different genres of photography, ranging from street photography to architecture and contemplative practices.
He is particularly interested in poetic photography, working with both digital and analog techniques. Photography represents for him a way to better understand himself, his fears, and his hopes. It is a never-ending journey an exploration of his deepest inner feelings and a quest to find his own tangible presence in the world.
Francesco Topino’s bodies of work focus on identity and on the relationships between people and nature. He develops subjective narratives that resemble personal diaries, where human and animal figures interact with one another, intertwined with natural elements and landscapes.
Spending his time between the United States and Italy, Topino has participated in numerous exhibitions.
